About Alpha Delta Pi

Alpha Delta Pi made history as the first secret society for college women, founded on May 15, 1851 at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia. Originally called the Adelphean Society (from the Greek word for “sister”), ADPi has always been about forging deep, authentic bonds—and doing it with heart, brains, and a strong sense of purpose.

Symbols, Colors & Traditions

• Colors: Azure Blue and White—symbolizing friendship, sincerity, and truth (and also, they look great on everything).

• Flower: The Woodland Violet—simple, strong, and quietly iconic.

• Mascot: Alphie the Lion—because courage is kind of our thing.
