About Kappa Alpha Theta
Kappa Alpha Theta was founded on January 27, 1870, at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, making it the first Greek-letter fraternity for women. Created by four bold thinkers who wanted equal footing in a male-dominated academic world, Theta has always stood for intellectual ambition, leadership, and integrity.

Kappa Alpha Theta’s official philanthropy is Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), an organization that provides trained volunteers to advocate for children in the foster care and legal systems.
